When Marlene approached me to photograph her wedding I was excited yet also a bit apprehensive, as Marlene is a photographer in her own right. A month before the wedding we met at the Westcliffe to scout out possible locations as well as to make sure we had a rain plan in place should it be necessary, as the service was to be held in the beautiful gardens of the Westcliffe. Coverage included capturing all the guests arriving and I made use of the services of a second shooter to cover this, while Taryn ( my assistant ) and myself would be covering Marlene getting ready. In between the quiet periods I would shoot off to see how Francois was getting along.
Marlene looked absolutely beautiful in her wedding dress designed by Gert van der Merwe who made sure that everything was just perfect.
